Even though they said that there is still discrimination

Even though they said that there is still discrimination here for being transgender, most said that life is more pleasant than in Lima where transwomen are very marginalized and don’t have many work opportunities outside of the streets. Because of that, many suffer from violence from police, clients and partners, diseases because of their line of work and alcohol and drug abuse. Even though things are changing little by little in Peru with respect to the LGBTQI community, there are still no laws that protect transgender people.

Por eso, ellas sufren mucho de la violencia de policía, clientes y parejas, enfermedades por su trabajo y abuso de alcohol y drogas.
