At the end of the day in the Wakhan Corridor’s village of Warzuds, a boy collects river stones to shore up a small dam by his family’s crop above the Panj River. At Warzuds’ elevation (approx. 3000m) farmers have successfully grown apple and apricot trees as well as more hardy, winter crops like potatoes and wheat.
