Maté fixings in a Syrian refugee camp in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. A caffeine-rich herbal infusion popular in Argentina and Uruguay, apparently maté was introduced to the Levant when Syrian and Lebanese migrants to South America in the early 20th century brought it back home with them when visiting or moving back permanently. It's especially popular in the Druze community.
