In this recycling yard in the northern suburbs of #Beijing, giant cubes of compacted cardboard and paper weigh more than 1,500 pounds each. The waste that comes here to be reborn tells the story of a changing China. "There are school books, magazines, calendars, shredded receipts and firecracker boxes left over from the recent Chinese New Year,” said @chiyin_sim, who visited last week. “But there were also brochures for Audi cars, cartons for imported milk, yogurt, Belgian beer cans, brandy and wine crates.” #nytbeginnings @everydayasia @viiphoto
