Photographed by a box camera at age in QuettaPakistan

Photographed by a box camera at age 23 in #QuettaPakistan (on the border of Afghanistan) with my first cameras hanging around my neck. I was 2 years into making photos and had just crossed from Turkey through Iran and into Pakistan on a 6 month Asia overland journey. I was still just making pictures instead of making stories at that point. I traveled to Pakistan many times in the decade after this photo was taken to document the Sufis, the aftermath of Bhutto's assassination, and the party people of Lahore. Pakistan was always a great adventure and the hospitality I received as a guest is still unequalled in my travels. InshAllah I will return soon!
