“Yemen’s response to the Zionist regime’s offense at Hudaydah port will be different ... an unprecedented response that will make the aggressors regret their actions,” he added.
In a post on the X social network, Asad separately warned of a crushing and painful blow to the Zionist regime, which he said will be coming soon.
He cited a Qur’anic verse, saying, “Soon, we will witness a day when the sky will be melted like metal.”
On Saturday, Israeli warplanes targeted buildings, oil facilities, and a power station in Hudaydah, killing at least six people and leaving 83 injured, many of them with severe burns.
The aggression came a day after the Yemeni armed forces carried out a drone strike on an area near a U.S. consular facility in Tel Aviv in response to the Israeli genocide in Gaza, killing one person and injuring 10 others as the Israeli air defenses failed to intercept the drone.
Iran’s interim Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani on Monday expressed the country’s solidarity with the Yemeni people and resistance.
In a phone conversation with Ansarullah spokesman Muhammad Abdul-Salam, the minister condemned Israel’s airstrike on Hudaydah. He said the “historic” support of the Yemeni nation and resistance fighters for the oppressed Palestinians in the Gaza Strip is a “source of pride for the Muslim Ummah”.
Bagheri said the “exemplary” resilience of the people of Gaza, Yemen’s pro-Palestinian initiative, and Iran’s April retaliatory operation against Israel are the three factors that have resulted in the occupying regime’s “strategic failure” during its ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
Abdul-Salam thanked Tehran for expressing solidarity with Yemen in the wake of the Hudaydah assault, saying the attack shows the usurping entity’ “desperate failure and helplessness.”
The Yemeni official said the issue of Palestine is the issue of the entire Muslim Ummah.
He also extended his appreciation to the Islamic Republic for standing by the Palestinians and providing political and spiritual support for the Yemenis in different fields, including their fight against the Zionists.
