As part of our #MENAstories series, this week we're reposting photos from @unicef_iraq taken by a group of Yazidi girls who took part in a photojournalism workshop in Iraq. •••

Earlier this year UNICEF supported a photography workshop for a group of Yazidi girls who fled conflict in Sinjar and are now living in a camp near the city of Dohuk. The workshop helped create community, build confidence, and empowered participants to tell their own stories.

We're sharing some of their images to highlight the unique perspectives of these brave young women in the lead-up to 20 November, Universal Children’s Day and the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

On November 20th UNICEF will launch the global #FightUnfair campaign to engage a community of advocates, empowering them to speak out about the most egregious unfair situations that face children today - and commit to doing something about them.
