Local businessmen and entrepreneurs have stopped investing in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand Province; too much risk of the city befalling the same fate as Kunduz late last year, when the Taliban overwhelmed the government security forces and went on a several-day-long spree of looting and arson. The Ferris wheel here hasn't worked for at least a couple of years, but that didn't stop these young Helmandis who played humans in the hamster-wheel for the benefit of a couple of younger, lighter friends late this afternoon.
