In the spring, as the hills of Kabul turn green and gardens overflow with blooming roses, so too come the afternoon storms that whip up the thin layers of dust covering every surface in the city before throwing it into a premature dusk and the streets into traffic-clogged cess-pools. Once it has passed though, the traffic dissipates and a stillness comes over Kabul, just in time for hundreds of Muezzin's calls to prayer to echo throughout the valley as dark falls.
