A Palestinian mother searches for the body of her son as Israeli forces have withdrawn from the al-Shifa vicinity following a 2-week siege.
Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest medical facility, has been left in ruins with piles of bodies, following the siege. Israeli officials claim 200 people were killed and 900 arrested during a 15-day military assault, while Gaza's civil defence reports around 300 Palestinians have been killed.
The army claimed civilians and medical staff were not harmed during the raid, but medical organisations and witnesses strongly dispute this. The World Health Organization reports at least 21 patient deaths, while survivors told Middle East Eye that many civilians were killed during the siege.
