An ancient hero named Hal Jordan had gone insane, destroyed the Green Lantern Corps, and killed every other Lantern. No training. No backup. Just a ring that turned Kyle's imagination into hard-light constructs — anything he could draw, he could create.
His early days were a nightmare. He got his butt kicked constantly. Then the villain Major Force figured out Kyle's identity and murdered Alex — stuffing her body into Kyle's own refrigerator for him to find. That image never left him. Kyle blamed himself and carried that guilt for years. But he kept going. He threw himself into being a hero with reckless desperation, making friends in Wally West and Donna Troy who became his found family. What Kyle had that other Lanterns didn't was pure, stubborn creativity — building giant mechs and complex machinery while other Lanterns just fired lasers.
