People take part in a traditional ritual called ‘Alam-Bandan’ which is held yearly, on 6th Muharram (the first month of the Islamic calendar). Muharram rituals mark the anniversary of the Battle of Karbala when Imam Hossein, the 3rd Shia Imam, and some of his family members were killed by Yazid forces years ago. #Masule, #Gilan, #Iran.
