As this year comes to its end,
As this year comes to its end,
I see how I should have counted my days
And what am I to say?
Turning back the hands of time,
Comes with a price,
And I refuse to dwell in a memory
Each year, my shadow takes on a new form,
Ever reminding me that one day we shall part ways
Yet, with the bitter cold,
Another year rolls in
Outside, I observe natures children
They lack nothing
And how can this be?
They take one day at a time
I see how I should have counted my days
And what am I to say?
Turning back the hands of time,
Comes with a price,
And I refuse to dwell in a memory
Each year, my shadow takes on a new form,
Ever reminding me that one day we shall part ways
Yet, with the bitter cold,
Another year rolls in
Outside, I observe natures children
They lack nothing
And how can this be?
They take one day at a time
