Everyone has spoken of the pain of the one who stayed and
Everyone has spoken of the pain of the one who stayed and was abandoned... about the suffering of the one who was left behind
But what about the one who left?
The one who wanted to stay but knew that his/her being there would cause pain and torment.. so he/she left and tried to keep the other one happy
He/she knew... he/she knew that the other one would be happy without him/her
He/she knew that if he/she stayed, the other one would only be hurt, and he/she would be the cause of all this
So, he/she left!
Why has there been no mention of his/her pain? Why haven't they written about the pain of one who wants to stay but cannot? About the pain of knowing that both leaving and staying are agony? Why is he/she never spoken of?
Is it because the one who is abandoned feels more pain? No... both are destroyed, and both are being destroyed
Very often, leaving was not his/her own choice; sometimes, he/she was forced
What do you know of a gaze that is still waiting? What do you know of a gaze that is longing for just one laugh of yours?
What do you know of the fact that he/she has never given up on you and has left only for your own sake?
In truth, why is attention always focused on only one side of the pain? :)
Why didn't they speak of a gaze full of regret? Full of the regret of: 'If I were there, would he/she still laugh?' 'I wish I were there...'
Not all departures are right;
in many of them, the one who leaves has not seen all the paths and has chosen the wrong path called 'leaving'
But what can I say of one whose only option was that? What can I say, when whatever I say is not enough?
