Dawn near Afghanistan's one and only passport office, in the south of Kabul. The daily, hundreds-strong queue wasn't deterred by sub-freezing temperatures this morning, nor the many vendors who've capitalised on the tenfold increase in applications for passports in recent months. Numerous shopfronts have opened up in response to the needs of applicants - mostly revolving around the plethora forms required for a passport application... And tea.
