Some much-needed rain came to Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand Province, this morning. The Friday bazaar was, by all accounts, empty compared to normal. Still, thousands of Helmandis from the city and surrounding districts rolled in for what is predominantly a livestock sale, but where local variations of universal market fare can also be found.
