The wife and 18-month-old daughter of Dawa Chiri, a 27-year-old Sherpa guide who was killed at Mount Everest when the avalanche triggered by the earthquake hit Camp 1. It took his family several days to bring his body back to lukla as priority was given to foreigners. Widowed at age of 22 and still in shock, her brother-in-law tells us how she spends long hours waiting at her doorstep everyday, thinking that her husband will be back any day.
His family is now concerned about how to support her and her toddler as the only source of income, was the money Dawa Chiri made through mountain guiding.
