از اجبار به تغییر دین یا هر نوع آزار و اذیتی در روزهای آغازین فتوحات عرب چیزی به گوش نمی‌رسد. در واقع، احتمالاً همین رویکرد بردبارانه و مداراگرانه آن‌ها نسبت به دین مسیحیت بود که به میزان زیادی به فتح سریع کشور کمک کرد.

زنان، کودکان، راهبان، افراد ناتوان، نابینایان، بیماران، گدایان و بردگان از پرداخت جزیه معاف بودند.

🔴 Of forced conversion or anything like persecution in the early days of the Arab conquest, we hear nothing. Indeed, it was probably in a great measure their tolerant attitude towards the Christian religion that facilitated their rapid acquisition of the country.

for women, children, monks, the halt, and the blind, and the sick, mendicants and slaves were exempted therefrom(jizya)
