Hezbollah Targets Haifa With ‘Big Rocket Salvo’
Sheikh Qassem Issues Warning to Zionist Regime
BEIRUT (Dispatches) –
Lebanon “is part of this Israeli expansionist project”, Sheikh Qassem said.
Hezbollah, he said, has moved since last month’s pager explosions from supporting Gaza to confrontation with the Zionist regime.
“Despite the severe blows we have endured, we have regained our strength on the battlefield,” he said. “Israel did not achieve its goal of eliminating the Resistance.”
The Israeli war has spread to Lebanon, with the occupying regime launching deadly strikes across the country, which have martyred more than 1,500 people and injured over 4,500 others since September 23.
Despite international warnings that the Middle East region is on the brink of a regional war amid Israel’s relentless attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, Tel Aviv expanded the conflict by launching on Oct. 1 moment incursion into southern Lebanon.
The Hezbollah deputy chief said reaching a ceasefire in Gaza is the key to ending the current conflict in the region. He warned that if the aggression persists, the number of abandoned settlements will grow, leaving hundreds of thousands of settlers—potentially over two million— without the chance to return to the north.
“If the war persists, more settlements will become uninhabitable. If the Zionist regime chooses to continue, we will continue.”
“The solution is a ceasefire based on an indirect agreement, after which the settlers can return to the north (in Israel),” he said. “We are not speaking from a position of weakness.”
Sheikh Qassem said Hezbollah will not be defeated in a protracted war with the Zionist regime.
“The Resistance will not be defeated because it owns the land and because its fighters are martyrs who accept nothing but a life of honor. Your army is now defeated and will be defeated more.”
He touched on Iran’s support for Palestine, calling it a source of honor. “Supporting Palestine is a source of honor for Iran, which spares no effort to promote and strengthen the Palestinians.”
Sheikh Qassem also praised the achievements of Hezbollah fighters, describing them “beyond expectations”.
“Our youth are ready to teach a great lesson to the Zionist army,” he said.
Sheikh Qassem referred to Hezbollah’s unprecedented drone strike on an Israeli training camp for the Golani Brigade in Binyamina south of occupied Haifa, which killed four Israeli soldiers and injured scores of others.
“On Sunday, Israel admitted to hundreds of injuries, but the actual numbers were even higher.”
